hello Jerry I was wondering once you get the lash out of the hydraulic lifter how much do you tighten it. thanks

The factory specification is to tighten the adjusting screw one turn after all the free play is taken out. I've had better luck doing 3/4 turn instead. After the preloaded lifter sits for a few minutes, the inner plunger leaks down slowly to allow the valve to close fully, so once you get all 12 valves adjusted, go have a cold one or two to let everything normalize!

Mike, I moved your post and started a new thread. You piggybacked off of a thread adjusting solid lifters which is completely different than hydraulics. It’s always better to start a new thread so you will get answers specific to your issue.

I would like to ask one more question please. with your help on the valve job you helped me with. do I need to retighten the head bolts to 90 lbs again. thank you
