Believe it or not, finding some decent, affordable, original white painted dog dish hubcaps for a '67-'72 Chevy C10 is not the easiest task. Been on the hunt for at least two months for some blue bow tie ones for my '71 with no success. I finally found some last week. They aren't the blue bowtie ones, they are the later gold/yellow bowtie ones used on '73 and up trucks. I planned on just painting the bow ties blue but they are in such great original shape, I may not touch them. Plus, the gold ones go really nice with dark green. Decisions, decisions.

Those are beautiful. I wouldn't paint them, either. You might find the blue ones sometime and you can pass these on to somebody with a '73.

Are you sure those aren't reproductions? They look like they've never been on a truck.

The guy I bought them from said they were sitting in his fathers garage cabinet for 40 years. They have a little surface rust on the back of them. You can tell by the paint on them that they're the real deal. :-)

Congrats on your find! They do look very pristine and yes the yellow go well with your trucks current green. Keep them/use them as you see fit and you can always continue the search for originals if that's what you want in the end. Who knows, they might grow on you to the point they become a permanent fixture. smile

If you want to see how the Caps would look with a "Blue" Bowtie, just add some blue painters' tape to one of the Caps .. Either way great score, those are in fantastic condition. dance

Great idea. The original blue bowtie ones are currently on the truck. I'll most likely talk them off and go commando for a little while before painting the wheels.

They certainly might. The yellow will also tie into the yellow '71 Alabama license plate I plan putting on the front bumper of the truck. :-)
