Congrats on a great job on your truck. How did it feel on your first test drive?
You've got more guts than I do. If I'd tried driving my truck "cross" town to a cruise in, AKA coffee & donuts in my town, I just know truck would've been impounded & I'd have a big fine to pay Maybe not, but I was too chicken to try it.

Since my first drive, I've gone to three others and put about 150 miles on it. Have some noises I am trying to zone in on. Impossible to get a plate with new job. I have to take time off to get a plate. Putting in our trust requires both my wife and I be present. So I am driving with no plate.
Spent whole day yesterday building wiring harnesses and getting wiring tidy'd up. Started at the rear and went forward. I have most everything done up to the engine bay. Over an hour straightening out my 58 year old t stat housing with a sanding block. Hopefully this solves the persistent leak. The pic was after I had sanded quite a bit.
Got my Lonesome dove plug on it too. Still need a name for it.

After too long of a break I am back at it now they I have new garage door due to my wife hitting it. Wiring seems to be the mantra of the weekend.
Bought a bunch of stuff from Retro Sound. I will post the goods and bads in electronic forum. It's in but not tidy. Kick panel enclosures dash speaker.
66 Was out for a day last Sunday, then 5 inches of snow monday. Roads free of salt so I take it to work today, now they are calling for 3 to 6 inches of snow tonight.
Man, I'd avoid those salt covered roads at all cost!! Here in (mostly) sunny coastal Florida it's the salt air. I keep my 66 indoors at all times if it's not being used. Even then, I find tiny bits of rust trying to take hold in various places. Come to think of it, we keep all of our vehicles garaged for that same reason.

Starting on the 20 or 30 punch list items to completion. Got replacement ammo boxes PO had in the engine bay. Looking forward to some simple part and tool storage.
Not a dumb question at all. I added front and rear.
The front was a universal fit. I didn't realize a factory one would have slid right into place with no hole drilling. It helped vs a friend who has same truck with none.
The rear is trickier. Its looks a little funky, but it made as much of a difference the font made to stop the rolling in corners. Its not a sports car, but you don't feel like you're going to flip over in corners.
Are the ammo cans bolted to the inner fender for carrying tools, etc?

When I added the front sway bar to my '65 C20 it made a huge difference. Back then I don't recall a rear option. If there was, in my primitive town and my limited resources, I never saw that option. The internet was just starting back then.
But with the newly added power steering and that front sway bar, it made that truck handle so good, it was a blast to drive it.
I like the ammo can idea, but I could not have them mounted there if it was my truck, unless they can be removed for working on the engine, i.e.: changing spark plugs, adjusting timing, checking oil.
I need to go back in your build and see the wiring process, I plan to add relays when I redo my truck.
