I was trying to do the brake shoes on my 1965 Chevrolet C10, had all the tools out, opened up the brake shoes I ordered and they were way too wide.
Hmmn, well, that sucked. So, off to the parts store with my old ones which were narrower. After some researching on the computer and some measuring with a caliper they figured out which width I needed and ordered those up.
I didn't have this problem the 2 other times I have needed brake shoes.
Anyway, I am just guessing that the wider brake shoes are for the 3/4 and 1 ton trucks for the same year? Everything else looked the same, the holes lined up and everything.
I was just wondering and thought I would ask.
Happy 'bolting.

That usually included drums, shoes, and backing plates about 1/2" wider than standard. Jerry

A little further checking for C20 and C30 models shows the front and rear brakes on the C20 (3/4 ton) to be 2-3/4" X 11" and the C30 (1 ton) front brakes also were 2-3/4" X 11". Sounds like you got the typical parts house mix-up on the 1st replacement set you got, or the parts counter folks selected the wrong (C20?) model truck when looking them up. Glad you got it resolved!
