The grill shell must be removed, remove the bolts that bolt it on to the front fenders and pull it forward to remove it. Also remove the radiator and bumper. The hood can stay on. Put a floor jack under the oil pan. I took a extra thermostat housing and mounted it upside down on the motor and put the cherry picker hook in it to support the front of the motor. Likely the original motor is a 235 and the 1/2 ton motor is a 216. but the outside is probably the same. I replaced my original motor on my 46 COE with a 1962 235 out of a car. The original manifolds worked fine with a little grinding to make room for the mounting bolts. I've owned mine for over 20 years and every time I work on it I realize why there are so few left!!!
