I'm ready to begin building the bed for my 53 half ton. Nothing is together at this time. I'm going to try to salvage my sides and front panel. Everything else is new. I remember back when I built the bed for my 1940 half ton, I bought a small book that dealt only with building the bed. It was great. The 53 bed is certainly similar in many ways to the 40, but probably has some differences. I don't know if I still have the book. I'll be looking today. Can any of you folks tell me if there is any info on building an A.D. truck bed, either in print or on line. Thanks

Never mind my previous post. I found the original booklet that I had and it does also cover trucks up to 1954, so I'm good to go.
