I always thought it looked terribly stupid to run around with a headband with an integrated flashlight on my forehead. Kind of like the dynamite retard in Dukes of Hazard.

Oh, well. Yesterday I got one for Xmas (Target, $5). Today I spent most of the day in the garage and found it to be much easier to use than my Maglite that always falls off or over or the electric light with a cable that is always in my way somewhere under my creeper. I can have stuff in both hands and still position my flash light under the car or truck. Plus I can take it off and attach it to anything magnetic. Cheap tool, very useful.

And when I get out of the garage I quickly take it off - because it DOES look stupid. :-)

At work, I wear coveralls, a greasy old tool belt that weighs about 40 pounds, a flashlight thingy like you described, and to top it off...I cruise around on a three wheel bicycle with a freaking basket!

Sometimes I buzz across the street on the bike to get a cup of coffee. The street is actually a 4 lane busy artery...people slam their brakes on and wave me across. I can see it in their eyes" the poor old bald retard" out for a jaunt on the trike.

regardless of the stigma apparently associated with these lights they are incredibly useful and i would put mine in my top tne list of useful tools/gadgets. aving both hands to work is much better than one. i too take mine off before i leave the garage though. people look at me like im an idiot enough without it.

I don't care what other people think about it. I've had one for years. They are very handy when fishing at night, especially when you are tying on a new hook while wearing bifocals. Also neat for hiking at night. You can see spider's eyes staring back at you.

I used a light very similar, when repairing some phone wires up in the corner of the ceiling in my sister-inlaws basement. Very tight work area, and I needed both hands to get the job done. Don't use it much, but when I do, it's worth its weight in gold.
