The intake off the donor was broken when it hit the moose. From what I have seen on these engines the intake comes straight forward from the throttle body, mine comes up at somewhere around a 45 degree angle because it came out of a cutaway van. How rigid does the intake need to be to avoid collapsing? I thought about building one out of stainless of aluminum tubing but flex plastic would be much easier. I need to go from the throttle body to the filter to include maf and intake temp.

The high vacuum will be found between the throttle body and the cylinder head(s). Flex plastic would be plenty rigid for the intake upstream of the throttles. You could also mock up a pipe and then cover it with fiberglass cloth and resin.
