I believe the side door lock will work on the rear door of the A.D. panel truck. The shaft will need to be modified. Here is the info I have: The Chevy cars from 1941, 1942, 1946, 1947, or 1948 had a latch mechanism that looks like the Panel truck barn door latch. I have a picture of the 1934 to 1946 Chevy and GMC Door Latch that does not have the key lock mechanism. I believe those years used the key lock in the handle. That picture was to show where the anti-sag spring goes. I bought that spring for my rear door latch in the ’47. Here is a picture of the door latch (without spring) from my ’47. The Key lock mechanism is that lever that extends to the bottom. The lock barrel has a shaft that engages the round piece with the Two stops. Here is a picture of Two lock barrels, the side, and the rear. The shaft lengths are different. This style of lock shaft is the square stock with one edge cut. The A.D. passenger door lock shaft has the end of the shaft flattened like a paddle and won’t work in the rear door mechanism.
