i have a 55 3100 first series. having trouble finding vin number. if it is shown on rail, would it be towards the front or truck or towards the rear also, will it be on the block, but i didnt see it hope somebody can help me jim
The vin number should be on a plate on the drivers door jamb between the hinges.The engine will have a serial number on a flat machined area next to the distributer bolt.
Here's an excerpt from the 1955 1st Vehicle Info Kit with Serial number information that might help you out. There was no serial number on the frames.
