The old oil-less compressor from sears is on its death bed. Will not pump up past 90 psi.Time to replace it. looking to spend about $500 on a new one. I see tractor supply sells farm hand brand. Anybody have one?

Also looking at the ones Lowes sells. Kobalt brand. Looks like a good deal for the price. Any recomendations???

Sears professional is pretty good. I don't know the price now but a couple years ago I purchase the 80gal tank, 7HP motor, 75psi at over 17cfm at 90 psi and it works great. Runs my bead blasting cabinet and other stuff. Total cost was $805 but money well spent.(had 10% discount) I also checked the Tractor supply, and a number of other places. On a recent thread I suggest "take you time,check all places". They are like auto's all have something different. There is a good article on TPTool web site about selecting an air compressor that you may want to check out and thus make a good informed decision. My .02.

Look at the 5hp 80 gallon Ingersol rand at tractor supply. About $650 (look for the credit card 10% off deal and drop it lower) gets you 18.1 cfm at 90, cast compressor (not sleve) and heavy duty cycle. I've had mine for a couple years and love it. Best deal anywhere for a lifetime compressor.

I got a flyer from Tractor Supply today with a 60 gal Ingersol Rand, 11.3 cfm@90 psi for $449.40.

Looks like Tractor supply has the best deal. Now I have to get the extra cash to get it.

I think you will regret the cfm limit a little later on. I misquoted the Craftsman above...mine is over 19 cfm.and like jake53 it has the cast iron sleeve etc. I am not advertising for Craftsman but I've used a couple different ones in my day and my brother in his shop. It is a little more money but while you sit waiting on air you will be saying I wish I had bought the.... and lastly 60 gal is not enough tank if you plan to use it much. Now understand this is just my .02 worth....not the gospel

Chipmunk is dead on right. Don't buy less than what you'll really need or you'll regret it later. Save & wait till you can get it and then you're done for life. Consider whatever you may want to do at some point in your decision.

I just bought a farmhand 20 gallon horizontal oil lubed compressor from TSC. $280 plus an impact, air chisel and hose is included. I haven't used those things yet, but the compressor seems good quality for the price (I mostly use it for lighter duty stuff like inflating tires, impact work, etc). I did some spray priming with it, and of course, it's way too small for anything like that. Lots of standing around waiting for it to recover.
