I just picked up a 41 Chevy dump truck. I got it running yesterday. It looks like I have a 63-67 Rochester BV carb from what I can tell. Tag # 7023000
I want to rebuild it and maybe do something with the choke, but before I do I'd like to hear what folks thoughts are on the carb. Is it considered a good carb? I don't know if I should go back to the stock carb or stick with what's on it.
The motor is a 1937 216 rebuilt in 1953. It's bored .060" etc according to a tag on the valve cover. It looks like they built it into a 235 ci.

Thanks for any thoughts, insights etc.

The tag number is actually 7023000 (1963 and 1964 Chevrolet 230 CID).

Jon

Good carburetion is fuelish hot air
The most expensive carburetor is the wrong one you attempt to modify.
