Hello! I’m looking for the right person for doing an engine change out (from Babbitt to full pressure) 235 or 261….As well as purging/replacing lines and fluids as needed to get my 1949 6400 truck back on the road. It’s been garage kept since new and has been off the road for about 15 years. If you are or know of the right person/shop please let me know. Thanks in advance for your help!
Please don't scrap the Babbit engine. That one's probably got a spray-oiler 235, and they're somewhat scarce. With a little creative machining, a rotating assembly from a later model full pressure engine can be adapted to the earlier block, which would retain the original appearance. It's also possible to get up to 270 cubic inches in a spray-oiler 235 block. Jerry
