Who do you folks recommend that can rebuild some gauges for my 48 Chevy panel truck? I do have some 12V parts that I’ve salvage out of a later model school bus. They are very similar to the 54 and 55 gauges and I was hoping they might possibly be able to use some of those parts also…. Thanks..joe

I just purchased a rebuilt speedometer from Jim Carter. He sends it to another company but they did a fabulous job. I sent mine in for exchange but if you want your exact units back, they'll restore yours.

Chrome plated bezel like the original, not stainless steel like the repops.

The guy that rebuilds them actually works for Jim Carter, Alvin and I met him a couple of years ago while in KC. He showed us some of his work, it's Top Notch. thumbs_up

The only time I needed some help on gauges it was for my Corvette, I took the gauges to Bob's Speedometers in Howell Michigan. Look at their website, they specialize in resto and repair.

Joe - Just a note to let you know I moved your thread over to the Interiors forum as the best place for your topic. You might want to post some pictures of the gauges you are considering putting in your '48 so folks can better see what you have and offer advice on what may or may not work. smile

They are stock pods like Otto’s, but the extra parts look like the 54-55’s Chevy’s. Can’t post pics at the moment because I’m 1500miles away but will be able to in about a week…joe
