If you follow the fairly known engine casting date code info, the following should indicate your engine info:
CON4 = Conveyor line # 4
A = January
8 = 8th Day of January
0 = 1960 (Model Year)
This should confirm you have a base level 1960 235 out of Chevy C-10 thru 30 combined with the other info you have provided.

There should be some other numbers on the block as well as the head .From them just punch up casting numbers 235 and it should tell you the year and application of the motor .There is also a machined pad next to the distributer that has small numbers stamped on there and from them the US motors have were they were built and other imfo .
Again; blue paint. If it’s original, points toward a car engine with hydraulic lifters which is great as long as they are working right.
