ok guys... I had a nice sun shiny day, and the kids were playing outside so I started taking a few things off this old bolt.

well that didn't last too long cuz it is still pretty cold, and the kids got soaked. in the meantime I found these screws with a head that I don't have a tool for.

what kind of screw heads are these, and how common are the tools to remove them? (I bet ya they aren't going back in)

I don't see a pic of them, But i'll bet they are the old clutch heads. used a loton the older trucks, you can get tolls for them from most any good tool supplier.

Ifound mine at my local car parts store.Look around the old truck, theres biger ones on the door catch and i beleive two diferent sizes used on stuff in the cab.Id call around to the local places and ask if they carry clutch head screw drivers.Save alittle gas that way. There a must if youre working on the old stovebolts.

Sometimes you can get them loose with a good flat bladed screw driver, one that the edges aren't round off, if the screw isn't rusted too much. smile

Solo, if your talking about Clutch Screws (that's their name), that resemble an hourglass.

Try your local NAPA for the screwdrivers - I doubt Sears carry them.

thanks guys... I do have a Napa here so that should be a good option. actually as I got searching more sears does have some in theirs kits of bits screw drivers. I don't really want a bit set so I'm going to try to find some elsewhere.

definitely going to put something in that I can find part for a little easier... smile

you can also get em from True Value in 1/4 hex bits. 5/32 is the interior size on a 46.1/4 on the door latches and 5/16 on the door hinges. the little one wear out fast, get more than one, the stubborn ones I took my cutoff tool and put a slot in them. I don't plan on putting them back!
