I really don’t want to use the slatted stuff since the floor has been modified. I would prefer to go with some sort of plywood. But I am uncertain about using pressure treat plywood because of shrinkage after drying completely or would that be the best way to go. Thanks for any info….joe

It’s toxic in contained areas.
Panels and burbs came with plywood not planks so I would look for marine grade plywood available in most lumber stores as special order. You can even order it from the big box stores. Once sealed, it will last a long time.

One problem with plywood is, unless you special order, lumber store pieces only come 48" wide. AD floors are slightly wider than that. I've seen where one person's solution was to buy two pieces and join them down the middle. If you cover the plywood with something else, then not a big deal as the seam will be hidden.
This only apples to AD versions. Not sure what you are working on, so this information might not apply to your vehicle. | | | | Joined: Aug 2014 Posts: 176 I have more zippers then a pair of cargo pants | I have more zippers then a pair of cargo pants Joined: Aug 2014 Posts: 176 | This only apples to AD versions. Not sure what you are working on, so this information might not apply to your vehicle. I’m working on my 48 Chevy Panel/Bus. Mine had the planks but after being covered in rat poop and pee for who knows how long it was removed and burn 30yrs ago. I was more worried about the underside being exposed to the elements and what to cover it with to prevent rot. If regular plywood will work if covered, great. If not I have no problem buying marine plywood wood. joe

Clear finish, paint, etc. | | | | Joined: Nov 2001 Posts: 1,516 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Nov 2001 Posts: 1,516 | Ive used plywood that i sprayed with the DIY undercoating from FLAPS or Amazon. Works well, especially for sealing the edges. For your panel, maybe a sheet of 4 X 9 exterior siding? good luck, Marty | | | | Joined: Aug 2014 Posts: 176 I have more zippers then a pair of cargo pants | I have more zippers then a pair of cargo pants Joined: Aug 2014 Posts: 176 |
