I need to go from a 7/8” hose fitting on my water pump into a 3/4” hose into my heater core. I cannot locate an adapter.

I have 3/4” connector. Should I just build up one side of it with something to make it fit? If so, what?

I must be missing something. Why does this need to be so difficult? It’s just a blankety blank water pump!

I lubed the end of the hose with some coolant and was able to just stretch the 3/4" hose onto the 7/8" nipple on the water pump in my 58.

Finally, the inlet/outlet on a lot of water pumps are just NPT nipples. You might be able to unscrew the 7/8" one and replace it with a 3/4" one.

You could also warm the hose with a heat gun to help ease it onto the fitting.

Tried the heat gun but the reinforced hose did not give enough. I ordered the adapter. Thanks again for your help!

If the pump is NPT, you can install a 7/8" X 3/4" NPT bushing, then a 3/4" NPT to barb.
