Really? Carriage bolts with a cover…engineers were thinking exactly what?

LinkI used to cut nuts off bolts with a cutting torch without damaging the bolt, but you wouldn't care about damaging the bolts. With the potential for oil and grease in the neighborhood you might not want to try that, or be REAL careful.

I do have a nut splitter if it will fit up in the crossmember channel. Good call If it works.
