danman, Not sure if it makes a difference, but it may help to specify which year/model truck you are working on. Add a bit more details and someone should be able to help you out.

Thanks Gdadas. My truck is a 64 c10. I've removed a 250 6 cyl early 70's era. Replacing with a rebuilt 283 out of 1965 Chevelle. The 283 had log style exhaust manifolds. I want to replace log style with ram horns that I had laying around, but no info on them. The driver side manifold has alternator bracket bolt holes on the front versus the more common top side bolt holes. My head hurts searching for the correct bracket for the front as shown in the picture. There are alternatives out there, but was hoping to use the front holes. Thanks.
danman, I think I've got some good news for you. A little research on the web led me to the below pic of an original style driver side alternator mount setup (alternator not installed) that shows the brackets you need to use the front of your rams horn mounting holes. You will need both the upper and lower brackets, plus the long bolt that runs through the bottom of the alternator that is sandwiched between the lower mount upper hole and upper manifold hole. Plus some spacers (to align the alternator pulley with your other pulleys), washers and other hardware to secure everything in place of course.
You can currently find an NOS lower bracket HERE for a fairly decent price.
A reproduction upper support bracket can be found HERE, also for a not terrible price.
Hope this provides you a "headache relief" moment and you can get yourself moving on with the project.

Thank you, Gdads51. Exactly what I was looking for and yes, big time headache relief. After building the engine I thought the alternator setup, ignition setup, exhaust manifolds, carb and more would be no brainers. Wrong, it's been the most challenging for me. Anyway, thanks again, really appreciate it.

Oh, so *that's* how it's supposed to go?!?! I've worked on a wide variety of Chevy V8s and I don't think I've ever met one yet with the entirety of that setup there and functioning as intended! Cool to see a pic of how it's really meant to go together.
