is the cab the same for a 1944 chevy military truck as it would be for a 1941-46 pickup?

I think for the regular trucks, (not COE) they are the same. There is a military specific dash gauge panel and some lighting controls as well as other things I can't recall off the top of my head. Someone with more WWII truck knowledge will surely come along and provide more details. smile

I used a door from a military truck of that vintage. I recall that it did not have a crank out windshield. The windshield did swingout but was held open by adjustable brackets. The door worked just fine for 41-46 trucks (and my 39).
