I attempted to share a few images with another longtime member via a PM this morning. No attachment manager. I do understand limiting/conserving bandwidth and memory but I believe (?) this has been an option in the past, perhaps it's related to our recent IT issues?

FYI it was images showing the backing plates of my '51 3600 Huck brakes. We're trying to tell if his excess inventory brakes are Huck or Bendix without pulling the drums. If anyone knows of a surefire tell that'll help.

Nope. No attachments allowed in PMs. Send the pictures via email. You can use a PM to get the other member's email address.

Thanks Gord, I coulda sworn Jon G or I posted a photo on one of our PM’s a couple years ago. Memory is a fragile thing @ 73 though.

On the other hand I was successful finding a tip on differentiating Huck from Bendix brakes from the backside….Hucks have two adjustment slot's on top….Bendix have one on bottom. Search using + signs is a powerful thing!

RonR, An alternative is if you already posted the picture in an active thread in Stovebolt, you can just copy and insert the link to that thread in your PM. When whoever you are conversing with clicks on it, they can look at the post and the pictures you already posted. Hope this might be helpful???

To add to what Dan said, if you go to the picture in question in a thread, you can right click on either the open picture or the thumbnail and select copy link, then paste that link in your PM. Clicking on that link will take you directly to the picture. Here's an example: LINK from one of Dan's posts.
