Im trying to find the bolt size for the right side ( transmission is in the truck) of the two cast “nipples” on the transmission case. I guess they were used to mount a hand brake(?) from what I’ve seen. Any help?
I did a bit of searching through my reference books. Assuming you have the band style parking brake, the 2 bolts that are used to mount the U-shaped brake handle bracket to the body of the SM420 should be 3/8 - 16 x 7/8" and also uses 3/8" split style lock washers. My resources show the same info for 1958-62 SM420's and I think that will carry over to your 1964 model as well.
