I’m thinking this will be my go to when removing a pilot bushing. Go to Micky D’s or your favourite fast food place grab a hand full of napkins ( the brown ones seem to have more texture than the white ones). Turn down a hardwood dowel to fit snug into the bushing, wet a napkin push in and repeat keep packing in the damp nappies with the dowel. Insert the dowel and using a BF hammer hit it a few times, if you need more paper repeat with the damp nappies. When you feel good resistance whack it really good and the bushing will be forced out. I’ve tried the grease thing and it worked but can be messy, I tried bread but with no luck. Being a cheap MacGiver type you make do! I used a bottom tap on my 216 last year and it worked the bushing out very easy, but I didn’t have a bigger tap to work on the 261 engine I’m working on now.
