Attended the Fall ATHS Baltimore-Washington Chapter show at the Bowles farm (Leonardtown, MD) this past weekend. The usual suspects were there. But ...

Newly attending was this particularly awesome 1971 K10 with a Detroit 3-53 mated to an SM-465. VERY good looking upgrade!

AND -- going into full retirement from truck driving this week, I got one last opportunity to drive a Detroit powered truck with a Road Ranger. I've been driving 13-speeds (double over drive) exclusively lately so jumping in the non-overdrive truck messed with me on the first upshift ... "WRONG TRUCK!!!!" dang

As in past years, past ATHS National President, John Vannatta, let me drive his 6v-92 Detroit-powered Ford W9000 cab over home for him from the show. One last drive (probably) in a 2-cycle Detroit with a 9-speed Road Ranger. FUN!!!!

My introduction to OTR driving was in a worn out 64 Freightliner in 1975 with a Detroit 8V71 and a Fuller RTO 910. I don't miss that one at all!
