I’ve been checking out this forum recently and have been very impressed with the discussions and tech tips that have been talked about. I have already obtained a lot of useful information and hope to gain more knowledge as I continue to Research repairs & modifications. I recently acquired a fully restored (to the best of my knowledge),a 46 Chevy half ton pick up. I think the only update from stock is the 1954 235 engine. I absolutely love the Aspect of stock condition. But I am already realizing that trying to go to neighboring towns to do different shows will be hindered based on road speed and drivability. I am researching many articles on here concerning updating torque tube gearing or changing complete rear end and transmission. thanks for everyone’s input on all the topics and I will definitely ask questions when needed. Looking forward to making it more drivable and enjoyable, taking it to shows and showing it off.

My goodness. What do you even NEED to do to it, besides DRIVE it! This is a great looking '46. What color is it ... a blackish-blue? A blue-ish black? (I like colors that take on different colors when you look from different angles. )

I'm just getting started on putting my truck back together and I'm going to try installing 3.55 gears. I too want to experience 60-65mph on the highway. A local driveline shop told me if I run into problems that they would be happy to help. Only catch - no help until Christmas season. They are booked solid until then.
