CPP finally sent my anti roll bar to me last week, it was on back order since May.
Not available for a 46, so I ordered one for a 47-50 model year, and went about fitting it to my 46 1/2 ton this week. I got it out for a test drive today and WOW! What a huge difference. I feel like the truck is finally communicating what the suspension and tires are doing. Roll on downhills when braking/turning in is mostly gone, even on normal city street corners it is so stable up front. Mind you I had replaced my springs +-2 years ago with Jim Carter/St Louis so it’s not like everything else is worn out.
As for the bar, as can be seen in the pix below they sent a tubular bar with welded arms back to the heim joints, this is different than what I expected from catalog photos, was supposed to be the type u shaped bent bar (less traditional look to me).
Install was relatively straight forward, I spaced down the mounting pad which is drilled/bolted to the center of the frame cross brace so the mounting plate is even with the front flange of the cross brace.
Getting the bolts in and tight was a challenge but it was accomplished with the radiator etc in place. Magnets etc, the right depth of ratchet/ socket and patience ‘got er dun’. The vertical links were installed 1st, then the bar mounted to the links and the collars mounted such that the links have no stress on them.
Fab’d the L brackets, cut from locally available strut L brackets, mounted them tight so they support the flange of the crossmember. One edit I added a photo of the thick L bracket, how tight it is mounted to and supports the flange, holes in it drilled with W bit (.386) so bolts have very little room to move, want all the up/down force transferred direct as possible…

Yes, seems CPP changed their design, I wanted the older look but won’t complain about the function. When I spoke to the CPP rep about a month ago he said Adco was just so far behind on production and they only could wait… Don’t know if this was all they could get….
The real word on the change: truly transformative, best $200. Bang for the buck.
