Hello all, I have had a GM 3 speed manual with overdrive in my 69 stepside for 40 years. Picked out of a parts truck I bought that it had been special ordered in. Outstanding unit. Saved a lot of rpm over the years. But it's time to go to a 700r4 and teach my grandaughter to drive the 69. I would love to find a good home for this tranny. No idea on value of this tranny, I find very few people that even have knowledge of it. If you're interested or know what it's worth please reach out.
Thanks, Stovebolt for ever

Teach her to drive the manual! It's a skill she will never regret having, as most of her peers won't be able to drive a stick...

On a scale of 1 to 10, a 700R4 is about a minus 3. You'll have better luck with just about any other automatic trans, including an aluminum case 2 speed Powerglide! My first choice would be a TH350 or a TH400. How many bolts does the side cover on your OD trans have? If it's got 7 instead of 4, I'm definitely interested!

She'll be glad to learn how to drive a stick and she'll be the envy of her friends.

I taught my Grandson to drive a manual in my '93 K1500 4x4. Now he has skills none of his friends have. He loves driving the Old Trucks.

I had my 14 year old grandson out yesterday learning how to drive my 38. He is a very accomplished go kart racer. He's never driven a vehicle with a clutch. After a couple times around the block he had starting and stopping down. Shifting will be next

Times have really changed. I never thought I would see the day someone would want to get rid of a Saginaw OD in favor of an automatic.
