I would like to buy one of those jump start systems. They are like a rechargeable battery with jumper cables on them. Some of them have a light on them also. Are there any brands that are better than others? Harbor Freight has one on sale for about $40. Any suggestions?

Many of the auto parts stores carry the jump packs. I have one but do not remember the brand name. I do recommend the unit with the "strength of charge" lights that are green, yellow and red, so you always know the strength of the jump pack. Forty dollars sounds about right, buy I would check with a few auto parts stores or tractor supply stores in you area before purchasing. Also, check out Max Tools website. They carry this unit and many others that are useful for Stovebolters.

make sure that you check if it requires over 6 volt to energize. the new solor units require the battery to have at least that before it will put 12 volts to the battery. so you can not use it to bench check anything. good luck..mike j
