I have removed one of my front hubs to repack bearings and rebuild brake system, and I need to replace the wheel bearing seals as well. Does anyone have a part number for the inner wheel bearings and seals? It seems the seal slips over the inner race of the bearing…?

I redid the front hubs on my '59 9600 (Canadian 350 model) this summer. The seals on mine were some sort of felt seal so their effectiveness is solely to keep most of the grease in.

My seals ran on a extended shoulder of the rear bearing as well. You may want to consider a repair sleeve if there is any pitting there. The bearing already had a metic dimension of 63mm, so I machined the hubs to take an 85mm OD, 63mm ID, and 12mm thick double-lip rubber seal.

From 1954 GMC Master Parts Book:


7450131 is listed as the inner front wheel bearing for 350-24. Notes in the book also refer to "HY #KA-11424".
I Googled "KA 11424 Bearing" and got hits.

3691478 is the seal part number.

I don't think the bearings are being produced any more, but NOS bearings appear on eBay from time to time. I replaced the bearings on my 1953 GMC 350 a couple of years ago and bought them on eBay. The seals show up on eBay occasionally as well.

Thank you Gentlemen! Exactly the info that I needed! my bearings are in fantastic shape for sitting for 30+ years ,I will re-use them for sure. The seals are not terrible either.. I just figured that I would replace them if I was in there.. If i have trouble finding new ones, I will re-evaluate them for re-use, and maybe replace them later if they start to be a problem.

Now to find a new master cylinder...
