Good afternoon all! I just purchased a kit with 6 door bumpers. I 'assume' 3 per side running down the door latch side. My truck did not have any bumpers installed. The kit has 2 larger conical shaped bumpers, 2 smaller conical bumpers, and 2 flat bumpers. Can anyone tell me which ones go where? Thanks in advance.
Hard to tell for sure from your description, but a peek in a 1955-59 FAM shows 2 different bumpers for each door on door frame (top and bottom) in the 1st pic below and what look like a very small push in bumper that fit into each door in the vent window area in 2nd pic. Can you share the order info for the kit you purchased as that might provide more helpful responses.

The kit is from Truck and Car Parts in Orange CA. Their part # 55-02403, page 22 of their catalog. 'Door Bumpers' I believe I see the three spots for the bumpers. The flat one goes near the vent window, leading edge of the door, and contacts near the top, hinge side of the door frame. The other two conical ones go in holes in the rear of the door frame. The bigger one in the lower hole???? Maybe?
Not sure on which goes where on the door frame. I did look at the catalog and see that one of the conical bumpers is definitely larger around and taller than the other. One way to figure placement out is to get a chunk of clay or similar compressible stuff, form a ball and stick in each corner bumper spot. Gently close the door until it is flush with the cab edge, then open back up and see which glob got crushed more than the other. You should be able to judge which spot gets the larger and which gets the smaller bumper then.

Dan, Thanks! Kinda what I was thinking. Also the upper corner of the door frame is farthest from the hinges, (more flex?) so maybe where the bigger cone should go? Thanks again! George
Doesn't anybody here have a '57 with the original bumpers in place or a correctly restored one?
