Looking for recommendations for a vendor for a front bumper for my 1949 3100. Thanks

My recommendation would be to find a used one, even if you have to get it rechromed. My experience with repop bumpers isn't good. The originals are spring steel, while repop bumpers (at least the rear one I bought) are soft steel. Additionally, it had sharp edges, as opposed to the radiused edged that were on originals.

Thanks I have heard that from others. Any recommendations for a chrome shop?

EPA has caused many local chrome shops to close.

Bumper Boys sends their work to Mexico.

Send your work to S & H Chrome Plating in Tennessee. 615-865-0100

Excellent work. They'll do all the body work on the bumper before chroming it so you don't have to worry about it. They did the complex rear bumper of my Toronado some years back. It had been busheled in on the corner. I never thought it could be repaired but it was as perfect as new.

Thanks. Any suggestions on how to ship it to them?

Talk to UPS or whoever you plan on shipping with. Likely you can slap a shipping label on it without boxing. Unless they drop it out of the truck and someone runs over it, it should arrive in good shape. The chrome shop will likely box it up to ship back to you.
