NOT 44T- - - -that's a tapered seat plug with a 5/8" wrench size. 44 has a 13/16" size and a flat copper gasket. AC 45 is OK if you don't do a lot of high speed highway travel. It's a little hotter than a 44. The "R" prefix indicates "resistor"- - - -either one is OK. RUN- - - -do not walk away from Prestolite plugs.

sparkplug-crossreference.com is handy for finding interchanges.

It has the 848 head. The engine is actually a 1961 but it's in my 1952 truck.

The "C" is for commercial
You can still find them on E Pay..ect.
I saw some for a good price earlier. Shop around.

Just as a historical reference, the J12Y plug was used in 283 chevys, Mopar motors, Harley Motorcycles, all kinds of engines. The J12Y plugs are the original variant (along with the R designation for resistor to keep radio noise down). the J12YC (C for copper) are the newer and current variant. Any of them will work.
The J14Y are the same plug but hotter (not in terms of spark but in terms of thermal temperature). Also fine to use if you cant find the J12Ys locally.
You might see J11Y and J10Y on ebay or facebook market place. These were colder plugs, generally for commercial use, taxis, trucks, but no longer available. Also used by racers for race motors. I scrounge them up when I come across them as I have used them for racing.

Based on the yellow color I believe it had done its service in a 56 2-ton. Years ago I ran C42-1 in the fleet's 270 powered GMC dump truck and my pickup. Since I couldn't find those commercial plugs anymore I used Champion RJ10Y. Bought two sets when I found them. They stay clean and white despite ~10,000 miles on them.
