Just a quick note this morning that the last of us didn't leave Mongo's until after 9pm last night. Was a great gathering and some picture from yesterday are forthcoming. We missed our Southern Bolter friends Craig and Alvin this year! Too many details to post in a short time, but will get a rundown of the day soon.

The KC trip just wasn't in the cards this year. I have been beating up on Thor for a road trip, I will make the pilgrimage to KC in this truck yet. . My partner in Crime has a new Bride and he himself has been under the weather. I did miss being there.

Vicki and I got home about noon today after a great weekend of learning, making new friends, seeing old friends and eating great food. Big thanks to Steve and Lisa for hosting the event at Mongo’s Garage and another big thanks to Dan for getting the event shirts, setting up and all around help. We held how to siminars all afternoon on a wide veriaty of topics. Although we had a small turnout it was still a great day! Saturday pictures?

Thanks Don for your pictures! I finally got to a point I could get my pictures titled and ready for posting, so here are the first batch of my additions to what Don posted.

Before I ramble on about more of the days activities, I want to offer a big "Thank You" to Steve and Lisa for hosting our event again and to Don and Vicki for putting on a fantastic lunch for everyone. The pulled pork, beans, assorted other sides and Vicki's cookies as always were a big hit!
On a followup note to Don's mention of the days tech activities, here is a little more detail for anyone interested. Our guest speakers/topics for truck stuff included Jim Carter giving a talk and demonstration on the proper type/gauge battery cables needed to support keeping our 6 volt trucks starting like they should with a 6 volt battery. Jim was followed by Steve (KCMongo) with a demonstration of a programmable CNC router to design/fabricate custom parts and accessories for our trucks. Steve also talked a bit about using a late model hydroboost unit in an earlier truck. I got the opportunity to share a bunch of original Chevy and GMC dealership handouts that I have found over the past year, with everyone getting a chance to leaf through them and see what customers from back in the day had to look at when truck shopping. Mark (59 fleet) concluded the truck tech sessions with discussion of the headlight relay setup on his truck and describing how/why he developed and added the system to his truck. For other topics, Don's wife Vicki did a presentation on some of her hand made art and Gaileen gave a talk on tie-dying. All in all, a well rounded day which also included some general sit-down random discussions about trucks and catching up on where folks were with their trucks and such.
I hope everyone had a great time and look forward to doing this again next year.

We missed you too Chris, as well as several other folks that couldn't make it for various last minute reasons. What can you say other than mark your calendar for 2025, around the 3rd weekend of the month, as that's our mostly likely event time frame. More to come on that in the future.
