Not sure of all the details. Paul worked all night, I know that. And he's probably trying to get some shut eye for a bit. I'm sure he'll pipe in here as soon as he's refreshed enough.

It seemed that one good thing lead to a not-so-good thing and he had to back up a few steps. He had an early "success" email to us, followed by a big ... "BUT" ... early early this morning, it seemed the entire site was down. Paul sent some inquiries to our Hosting company to sort some things out.

Please be patient. Paul will get at it as soon as he is able.

The UBBThreads software has been updated to version 8.0 successfully. What failed was updating the php software from version 7.4 to version 8.3. I have some thoughts about why it failed, but I need to get some sleep and think carefully about next steps. Upgrading php is required before we can move to the latest server operating system. All of these steps are necessary to get the site into a position where it can function without my help. I'm almost 77, and there are no guarantees in life, so I'm trying to take prudent steps to leave the site in good hands when I can no longer maintain it.

The site should be fully functional. If you notice something that works in an unexpected way (or doesn't work at all) please let me know by posting in this thread.

Paul, thank you for all you have done ... all this time ... keeping Stovebolt up and running. Where would we be without you? You are truly one of the Stovebolt Saints.

"Gawd I love Stovebolt!" ... that's when you first popped up on the site, way long ago. And you offered to help. wink

Jerry, Hope to hear from Paul soon. Our smiley face "I'm on line" icon is not there. Booo. Not every one can see the left column to see "Who's Online Now" listing.

The other thing is the OP is now replaced with a star. That's not too bad since we don't have to keep going "back to the beginning" to find who the OP is / was.

I'm gonna move your thread over to the N&A post where I think Paul will see it first. smile

I have no idea. I'll have to investigate that.

I just tried unsuccessfully to load some images again. I can add them to the attachment manager but they will not display.

Online status icon is now working.

Something new is a mood icon next to my handle at the top right. (changed my mood to sleepy)

You are missing it. Click on the icon next to your user name. I can't post a picture in this N&A forum at this time...
