For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Complete, no rust holes, a little surface rust, starts and runs, recent 'tune up' brakes checked, flat bed, all glass good. No missing parts that I can tell. Kept in barn for last 20 years. I'm not positive if engine is original (checking tomorrow) | | | | | Joined: Feb 2006 Posts: 162 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Feb 2006 Posts: 162 |

If you're not in a hurry you may be able to get a top price, but finding an interested buyer with funds is not as easy as with the smaller trucks.
They are harder to sell for several reasons. Not as many people want one. Those who want one may not have room to park one. The bigger trucks are harder to haul, which means the potential market is limited by geography. Grigg recently towed a COE from Washington State to New York but moving one that far is expensive and unusual.
One good way to research value is to watch them on eBay. When you see one fetch a premium price look both at what made that truck special, and how it was presented, the secret to getting top price will be in those two.
I happen to like them, and currently own three and I'm looking at a fourth. But I'm risking my marital bliss even admitting I'm looking at another one.

I thought you just got it..Or are you still negotiating a purchase price?
Just curious. | | | | | Joined: Dec 2005 Posts: 35 Apprentice | | Apprentice Joined: Dec 2005 Posts: 35 | Buying this week (pretty sure) Just want an idea if I'm getting what I'm paying for. I learned it has new master cyl. new brake pads and I think 1 new wheel cylinder. new voltage regulator new plugs and wires all new belts and hoses new fuel filter (and external oil filter was cleaned and re plumbed?. Never saw one of those before) I couldn't find a part that was missing. There was one knob hidden in acorns in the glove box. I couldn't see where anyone altered any mounts or sheet metal. Pretty sure the engine is original, or replaced with same model. I am impressed with this truck. | | | | | Joined: Oct 2003 Posts: 5,152 Cruising in the Passing Lane | | Cruising in the Passing Lane Joined: Oct 2003 Posts: 5,152 | Don't buy an old truck as an investment, buy it because you want it.
If being able to resell it at a gain is important this is pobably the wrong place to put your money.
Just my opinion of course, but make the decision based on wanting THIS truck, and feeling you can afford the price.
If you aren't comfortable that its worth the price, I'd suggest you stand back and look around some more. Get a feel for what people are paying for them and make your own judgement.
