Piecing my truck back together. Just ready to start bolting my cowl vent together but noticed the slots on the lever and actual vent. Is there special hardware to attach it to the hinge?
Check out this link to 1948 Chevy "Servicing Truck Cabs" posted by Brad Allen. Scroll down to Section 8 for some helpful pictures and tips on the cab vents. Oddly the Chevy Master parts books don't list any hardware for the AD series vents controls. The last trucks that list the hardware are 1941-46 Art Deco trucks.
Hopefully the pictures may provide some help in finding what will work for you. Others will be along soon to help out with what they may have used.

Looks the same as the 1952. Mine used small carriage type bolts and nuts for the sides and a slightly larger one for the other piece. They're all adjustable and if you are replacing the rubber gasket, the labyrinth style works best. Install it first, naturally. Good luck.
