The previous owner of my '48 never got the parking brake working in this truck. I suspected it was due to seized parking brake cables; but as I dug into it a little more, I think I'm missing some critical parking brake parts inside of the rear brake assemblies...

Attached are some pictures I took of what I have. Excuse the oil seal leak mess - that is getting addressed (as soon as parts arrive). The driver's side appears to have a lever for the parking brake cable to connect to, but the cable is disconnected from it. The passenger's side has nothing for the cable to attach to.

What am I missing and where can I get these parts?

Post an ad in the Swap Meet. I'm sure another 'bolter can fix you up. You definitely need the lever for the passenger side.

Post a pic of the parking brake cable mount that you have and let us know which side you need.

I found the lever and the reaction rod? (pictured) for the passenger's side. However, I'm still missing this rod for the driver's side - so I think that's all I need unless there's a spring or something else that is supposed to go on this rod.

I'm pretty sure there is supposed to be a spring on the forked end.

So I need two springs and one rod for the driver's side.

It looks as though you are missing the levers on the first picture for the left side? I had no parking brake parts in my 3600 with Huck brakes when I took it apart. You should be able to find those parts, a lot of guys installed different axles in their 1/2 tons.
