Good morning,

I have always been in love with classic cars and trucks. I have a 66 Pontiac Lemans/GTO resto-mod that I am currently messing with. My wife has always wanted a "Farm truck". I just recently picked her up a 51 Chevrolet 3600. It was restored about 12 years ago and in really good shape. I will be having some questions about the 235 engine and I assume a SM420 trans.
Thanks for letting me in the group and here is a few of pics of the wife's truck.

Yes, welcome to Stovebolt. I do like the "red and green" combo there. That's one good looking green truck. Is your wife driving it now?

Thanks all. Kathy hasn't driven it yet. She doesn't have a problem with driving stick but until I get it tuned from stalling at every stop or racing with the throttle knob she prefers to just ride. The last time we had it out there was a little vibration in the drive train and since its been parked gear oil id leaking at the center driveshaft carrier. I need to get it on the lift to investigate.

Welcome to the ‘Bolt! Nice truck! We would love it, if you could tell us a little about your truck, its history, your goals and what if any you have already accomplished.

Post a thread in the “Engine Forum” about your stalling issue and I’m sure you get some help in fixing the issue.

Post a thread in the “Driveline Forum” about your drivetrain issue.

And of course we bolters love pictures so please include a few more.

Welcome to the 'Bolt. It's good to have another Florida stovebolter. What area of the Sunshine State do you live? I'm in Central Florida. You have a very nice truck and Lemans.

What the seller had told us about the truck was he and his wife rescued the truck from a grass field in Oklahoma. They completed the frame off resto in 2012. It was kept in a conditioned warehouse when not used.

GasX, this is great.! You are now past moderation status and all your posts will go right on thru (no waiting for approval). Also, you'll be able to send Private Messages (PMs). You may want to check there now as there usually is a first "welcome" PM to you.

Glad to have you here. Hope to be able to help you with some of those issues you mentioned. AND, we'll be excited to see Kathy in the driver's seat (meaning happy face grins!).
