Trying to identify this bypass oil filter. Can’t read the decal. Currently painted orange. Came off a 216. Anyone recognize it? Thanks!

Have you compared your filter to the ones detailed in the Oil Filters tech Tip??? Looks very much like the SC-650 pictured in the Tech Tip.

I did look. It does look similar in shape, but different color and decal. I took another look, and I think I can make out the word Fram. That would explain the color. Maybe a Fram version of the SC-650? Thank you for your reply!

Does it have a filter element inside? If so, measure that and post here. Only about 2-3 sizes that were ~commonly~ used on these engines.

Dennis, A screen grab below from a current Fram remote filter on ebay shows a filter that looks very similar to yours and has the same decal layout/outline. If you look at the rest of the ad pics, they seem to show a filter very much like yours. Although the ad doesn't list a model number, if you zoom in on the lower decal it does show a Fram C-4 or C-4P2 cartidge is used in that filter. Hope this may be of further help.
