The Stovebolt Site Forums The Shop Area Engine Shop Throttle cable clamp

I just cannot wrap my mind around how to get this cable
connected to the throttle cam. I have the original but its for a Rochester carb.

In many of them, the cable first goes through the clamp (and the Rochester can be made to work on the Carter) and then the wire portion goes through the hole in the linkage rod (where normally a cotter pin goes) and there is a screw-tightened clamp on the bottom of the cable. Then you adjust by moving the outer part up/down and tightening the clamp and/or moving the clamp on the wire portion as needed.

I`ll go back and look at the 2 old Rochesters and see.
If I remember ,the cable would have to come from either up or a downward angle to the throttle cam.
Instead of straight on as pictured.
I have the old end clamp for the wire with clutch head. That appears to have had
brad press fit washer on the backside though.

This is on a Carter YF but it might help you to visualize what's needed.

Thanks Otto! Looks like to me ,I need a straight bracket about 3 inches long with a
cable clamp running horizontal to width. I have a wire clamp that fits in the throttle arm

I think one of the vendors like the Filling Station or Jim Carter sells the single bracket with the throttle and choke cable clamps.

Nope, not that I see. They both have one short one.
