Take a look at this picture of a 1952 Rochester B Carburetor. Has anyone ever seen one like this with a small hole at the top right beside the top of the pump shaft? What is this for? Looks like it was done for a reason. Should a screw be put in it or sealed up with something more permanent? Would it work like this without sealing it up?
This isn’t the one I am running on the truck right now but it was an extra one (maybe original one) my grandfather had in his building.

Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." -John 14:6
That hole was drilled on purpose to gm specifications to try to fix an issue where air pressure didn’t balance out properly in some climates There is a gm carburetor service document explaining precisely where and when to drill that hole Personally I would glue a dust screen over it if it was me cause I know how filthy the fields can be where I live -s
