Just posting a note here of a problem with images not displaying in the forums. They currently appear as broken links. We are working on the problem at several levels.

In the meantime, it might be best to hold off on posting pictures until the issue is resolved. We're not sure if the new posts with pictures will automatically get "healed" when the fix is applied, and they may have to be re-posted individually. If you want to "hold that thought" (image), you can go back to the old "link to an image" to tide you thru. It is an urgent matter since we rely heavily on images.

We'll update this announcement when the issue is fixed.

Thanks for your patience.

From our Stovebolt Geek:

"This is a known issue (the cause is unknown). Somehow, the execute bit gets disabled on the directory. When that happens nothing in the directory is accessible. I fixed it as soon as I saw this email."

Dang! Just posted some in The Tool Chest. Kevin's "best to hold off" went clear over my head. Duh.

You can go back and edit it; and add the image. Or repeat the post with the image, and the Mod will delete your first post. wink

Peggy,

THE ISSUE IS BACK!!

Skooter's post he mentioned was AFTER it got fixed (apparently only temporarily.) I just did a test post with a pic and NO PICTURE!

Older posts in the same thread have visible pics, so something's up again.

Still trying to resolve the issue. It seems something is working. Not sure why other parts are not resolving themselves. frown

Good news and not so good news.

Apparently only a few images got "left behind" on Saturday (May 4). So, if you added an image to a post on the 4th, you'll need to re-post and add your image(s) back. We say "re-post" because it's more than likely your entire post has lost it's pizazz without the image(s). Same with Sunday, the 5th but only a very very few (Sundays are quiet).

You Bolters out there who notice a post that's missing its image(s), if you'd report it (How to Flag a post), that would help the Moderators get some of the clean-up going.

We had some input from UBB Central. We also have a email going to developer of our upload (to the server) software. And then there's the hosting company. Paul hunted for a long time to see what caused the problems. We had a remedy that will keep things humming.

Bottom line: reload / re-post.

May be some clean up in only a few of the isles. drive

Bottom line: reload / re-POST with the images. (Please go back and delete the initial post then.) If you have a problem with any of it, let us know so we can help.
