I`d like to add a heater to my existing Harrison heater in my 1959 Apache. What options are out there?
I found THIS ONE but wanted more info, maybe more heat. I`d like to drive mine all year.

What do you mean when you say you are adding a heater to an existing Harrison heater? One heater is plenty to heat up the small cab of a pickup. I have one of those basic recirculating heaters and it heats up the cab in the coldest weather (teens) and gets it so hot I have to turn it off sometimes.

$230 is pretty steep, too. I bet you could find a used one somewhere for much less.

I will say my 1958 panel came with 2 heaters. I don`t how or where the 2nd was mounted. The pic, you can see the 4 heater hoses under battery. I took this pic when I first got the hood open and off. Wonder where that 2nd heater was mounted? Under the dash would be best for that or
an after market heater.

Otto, he has a panel truck so not a typical cab but more like a minivan space to heat.

In fact the additional heater that came in the 58 panel is slightly different in that it does not have a directional "scoop" at the bottom. I wonder could it be factory. The extra holes in firewall are not centered. The other pic is the length of the hoses ....

That looks like a tidy , fairly compact unit. It has an unobtrusive appearance.
A used heater , one that has seen a fair amount of use then been idle for a spell ; I’d be concerned about the integrity of the core. Better to spend a few more dollars for a new unit , methinks.

Yes, I have one good core left and heater that I will use in the 235 1958 panel.
This would be for my 59 Panel. I have a power inverter in the truck and was using
a space heater while I was working on it.
So I am looking at horizontal heaters that I can mount under the dash and
have 120v.
It would be instant heat and I would be able to remove it after the cold season.
Thoughts...?

That's gotta be a "powerful" inverter!

Yeah, I`ve had that invertor for at least 34 years now. I used it to power key machines.
The heater has a 500-1000-1500 watt options. My invertor is 1500 watts.

I dont know about your panel but I've seen suburbans with the second heater under the rear seat. If you get a compact one, will it fit under the driver seat?
