i have a 1950 chev 3100 with a 235 engine removed oil pan, then disconnected the oil pump used the oil pump to flush out the passages with acetone, for two weeks finally got oil going to head, as it cleaned out all oil sludge, and it sprays out quite nice. than i flushed it out with clean oil to remove the acetone, test oil pump pressure was good to 100 PSI. re installed pump and oil pan, filled with oil got 18 PSI for oil pressure when running but now only have very little going to head. only drops. any ideas why i only get drops going to head.

If any oil at all is coming from the weep holes in the rocker arms, that's plenty. All that oil does is keep the rocker arms lubed as they sweep across the tips of the valve stems. Even a tiny seep is sufficient, as the oil flow will increase with the road speed. Spray-oiler engines with troughs in the oil pan and dippers on the rods rarely if ever have more than 20-25 pounds of oil pressure. What weight oil are you running?
