Looking to do an overhaul on my transmission while I have it out of the truck (1953 3100 3 Speed). I found the items on the attached document at the Filling Station and was wondering if anyone has completed an overhaul utilizing this kit and misc parts or can recommend someplace to purchase an overhaul kit for this transmission.

Fixed your title (thanks for pointing it out). And I made your .doc into a PDF for easy access. The original was blurry but I think zooming in, the readers can see the parts. The doc just downloads and isn't readily viewable like a PDF.

Your gonna need bearings, synchronizer rings, possibly gears, possibly bearing retainer, bushings, and to steam your case, possible shifting forks, and cover gasket. You should just buy one of mine

Cheapskate1229. Please remember that offers to buy and sell must be placed within the appropriate "Swap Meet" Forum. Suggest you PM Deegs53 and discuss your subject. Thanks !

I did try to purchase a transmission from you. You reached out to me with the info and I gave you my offer. A week or so later you accepted, and I asked for pictures of the transmission to be certain it would fit my 53 truck because your add had no pictures and you stated you "thought it would fit a 49 or 50 Truck". Then you went silent, never responded to my PM, removed the add for your transmission and reposted the current ad and raised the price we agreed on. I was born at night, but it was not last night. Thank you for the offer to purchase your transmission at a higher cost than we initially agreed on, but I think I will pass.
I offered it for sale at $1000.00, you stated it not what you wanted to spend, I replied on what it was going to cost you if you rebuilt it yourself. You then got back and offered to buy it at $800.00 I said ok you can buy it at $800.00. This will fit your truck if it between the years 1949-1953 with a closed driveline. If your not sure send me your main case numbers and I will verify

Deegs... I rebuilt my 3sp with a NOS clutch shaft, 2 new ball bearings, new needles, new synchronizers, new thrust bearings, new rear bushing, a gasket set and a gallon of mineral oil for under 400 bucks.

Jethro/ Gord&Fran, Thanks for the info I appreciate your responses.
Cheapskate1229, Thanks for responding although you left out the part where I asked for pictures and you did not respond. Also thanks for motivating me to do this myself I figured I could since I have previously Rebuilt a 5 speed 1980 Honda transmission thanks to my son tearing it up racing in reverse, but of course that was when I had an Auto Hobby Shop to work in.

Oh yea. What great memories of the Auto Hobby Shops on most of the military bases where we were stationed. That is kinda what we vision in our *virtual garage* -- at that's for me. I see all the bays, the areas, the tools, and gearheads coming in to tinker, upgrade or fix a problem. Best of all ... helping each other.
