For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Jun 2023 Posts: 267 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jun 2023 Posts: 267 | My 1950 Chevy 1/2 ton PU driveline has beed completely rebuilt including the Huck brakes, and never been on the road. I am all set with the T5 transmission, with a lot of help from Lugnutz. Now I need help with the remainder of the swap and options. Question 1, are all third members a direct fit with 1947 thru 1962 housings. I would like to reuse my new components including the 3:55 ring and pinion into an open drive line. and lastly I am flying out OK in a few weeks to pick up a 1953 3100, I can load the bed with all sugestions.
Again Thank You Red

Welding usually doesn't work well because of the rubber bushings involved. It's a lot simpler to weld new spring mount pads onto the axle tubes in the correct location after figuring out the proper pinion angle. Jerry
