The Factory Assembly Manual for 47-54 trucks shows the 3800-4100 frame as 221 inches overall length, but the 3600 as 185 inches. Also, the 3600 has a hump over the rear axle, while the bigger frames are flat all the way back. I suppose you could adapt it, but it would be shorter than your 3800. Welcome to Stovebolt You might consider heading over to the Welcome Centre and introducing yourself and your truck. We'd like to see pics of your truck as well.

Also, what does "cut down slightly" mean exactly? Options: 1. Buy a 3800 frame. 2. Live with what you have 3. Fix the one you have 4. Sell  As said, need a bunch of pics of issue.
