Ok guys and gals. 1950 chevy 3100 with a Re-pop antenna I bought years ago. How does it come apart for removal?
It's been leaking water . Now the antenna does not extend. And zero to NO AM station's now... I tried finding the "instructions " but it's not in my thick note book..... Thank you. Todd
OK, got it off! Fibonachu is correct. The "Cone" screws on the bottom slant piece. It was Corroded pretty good and took some force to loosen. There is a nut under that , then the antenna comes out through the interior. The base part was full of water too. I will have to see if it is fixable or not. Any input with experience welcomed! The right antenna piece separated from the base antenna piece and it does not Extend anymore. PS it's 5 years old. Ugggg.. See attached pictures. Todd
I have that same antenna on my truck. I keep my truck in the garage but mine failed. Just bite the bullet and get another. I would suspect in your case the rubber gasket hardened over time with the sun. Either way you will likely experience my problem which was a failure in the connection where the antenna wire screws into.
I tried, but save yourself the hassle and just order another.....

Sweet, Good to know information. How long did your antenna last? Thank you. I don't have a problem getting another one BUT is there a different make, Looks similar, same type that I can try Next? Less than 5 years is pretty sad. I'd rather give a different one a try. I mean $100 (antenna & shipping) is ridiculous as it is, especially the failure rate. I love my AM radio so I will need to buy a replacement antenna. Anyone use a different Antenna on their truck and like it? Todd
OK, antenna replaced and working great so far! Cost just under $40 delivered. Let's see if it lasts. I bought the "antique" 3 tier one. Looks nice too.
