In my quest to put my truck back on the road one of the things I need to do is install new seats. The old bench was ruined and the frame in poor shape so I tossed it. I picked up some seats out of a obs extended cab chevy because they had 3 points on attached to the seats which is a nice upgrade and I was wondering if anyone did this before and if they did anything to brace the floor since if you get tossed around the seat will be pulling on the floor with the 3 point as part of the seat or if you just used large washers or something.

Helped a buddy put those type of seats in his 53. We went with larger washers in front under body and in the back. he did go with 6 total bolts. The he looked at me and asked "Think that is enough?" my reply.
"Dude if your body weight pulling on those seatbelts and impact pushing seat pulls that seat out of the standard bolts thru the steel, you got other issues to worry about in your no crumple zone, no air bags truck" He agreed and we moved on to other items.

that was my thought process if I am going to be moving with enough speed to tear those things out I think I will have bigger problems than the fact that the seat tore out the floor.

Safety harness used by construction workers need to be attached to an anchor rated at 5000#. Will your washers keep you and the seat in place so you don't get the steering shaft in the chest? If you look at the seat belt sets sold on the internet their washers are a plate about 2"x4" with the edges rounded up so there isn't a sharp edge to cut the sheet metal, it bends it instead, preventing it from pulling through.

ok . so I had my dad come over with some steel he had lying around . we ended up using some 3x1/8 flat bar he had left over to get a sort of template down . we decided to form the bar to the shape of the floor . we are going to use all of the original bench seat threaded holes that are on the back and the drivers side, make a square bracket to weld the bottom of the seat to since we cannot move the seat higher without having issues with leg to steering wheel clearance. On the passenger side in the middle of the cab where there are not any holes, we are going to still run plate over there as well as on the underside of the cab to act as a big washer to avoid tearing out the floor in case of a accident.
